Table

From SweepMe! Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Table widget shows the measured values of selected variables as a table in the Dashboard. Each row is one measurement point. Add it via the menu Widgets → Table → New…. You can add several Table widgets, each with its own selection.

The table is a live view of the last measurement points. All data is still saved to the data file, independent of what the table shows.

Configuration

Double-click the table, or click the configure button in its top-left corner, to open its settings:

  • Variable / Display?: all modules of the Sequencer are listed with their variables. Check Display? to add a variable as a column. Variables of modules that are unchecked in the sequencer are shown in gray. They stay selectable, and their selection is kept and saved.
  • Slice/Filter: reduces the rows that are shown, see Slicing and Filters (from SweepMe! 1.6.1.7).
  • Maximum row number: the table shows at most this many rows (default 50, maximum 10000). If there are more measurement points, only the last ones are shown.

The table is cleared when a new run starts.

Several branches

The rows of all branches of the sequencer are shown in one table, ordered by time. Variables of modules that are not part of a branch stay empty in the rows of that branch.

Slicing

Available from SweepMe! 1.6.1.7.

In the column Slice/Filter, each module has a field to show only some of its steps. Indexing follows Python and starts at 0, i.e. start:stop:step. Choose one of the suggestions or type your own:

Input Rows shown
: all steps (default)
0 only the first step
-1 only the last step (during a run: the current one)
::2 every second step
1: all steps but the first
2:5 the third to the fifth step

Invalid input is ignored, i.e. all steps are shown.

Example: a Loop repeats every voltage step of an SMU 10 times. Slicing the Loop with -1 shows only the last repetition of each voltage.

Filters

Available from SweepMe! 1.6.1.7.

In the column Slice/Filter, each variable has a field to show only the rows in which its value fulfills a condition. The filter also works if the variable itself is not displayed.

  • Use >, >=, <, <=, == or != followed by a number.
  • Use == or != followed by a text to compare text values.
  • Separate several conditions with ;. All conditions must be fulfilled.
Filter Rows shown
> 0.5 value greater than 0.5
>= 1; < 3 value from 1 to below 3
!= error text value not equal to "error"

Rows in which the variable has no value are hidden as well. Invalid conditions are ignored.

Row numbers

Available from SweepMe! 1.6.1.7.

The row numbers count all measurement points, starting at 1. Rows that are hidden by slicing, filtering or the maximum row number therefore leave gaps in the numbering. So you can always see which measurement point a row belongs to.

Copying data

Available from SweepMe! 1.6.1.7.

  • Select cells and press Ctrl+C, or right-click and select Copy, to copy them.
  • Right-click and select Copy table with header to copy all rows that are shown, together with the column header.

The data is copied as tab-separated text that can be pasted into spreadsheet programs like Excel.

Saving

The selected variables, the maximum row number, and the slicing and filter texts are saved with the sequence.
